Pattaya Mayor Joins in Preserving the Tradition of Mahachat, Supporting Education for Children and People with Disabilities at the Father Ray Foundation
On 24 August 2026, at Bualuang Auditorium, Mahatai Convention Center, Chonburi Province, Dr. Chawiwan Khampa, President of the Poultry Promotion Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, presided over the ceremony to celebrate the Buddhist robes as part of the Mahachat Vessantara Jataka Sermon Project. The ceremony featured the recitation of 13 chapters and 1,000 Pali verses.
The event was attended by Dr. Cholnan Srikaew, former Minister of Public Health, along with Mr. Poramet Ngampichet, Mayor of Pattaya City, members of the Pattaya City executive team, representatives from various organizations, and members of the public.
In the afternoon, the Mahachat Vessantara Jataka Sermon, consisting of 13 chapters and 1,000 Pali verses, was held as an opportunity for people to make merit and support educational opportunities for more than 850 children and people with disabilities under the care of the Father Ray Foundation.
In addition to making merit and listening to the Buddhist teachings, the event also helped preserve Buddhism and the traditional Mahachat sermon, while providing an opportunity for Buddhists and members of the public to come together to help create greater educational opportunities and improve the quality of life for children and people with disabilities.

24 สิงหาคม 2569 ณ หอประชุมบัวหลวง ศูนย์ประชุมมหาไถ่ จังหวัดชลบุรี ดร.ฉวีวรรณ คำพา นายกสมาคมส่งเสริมการเลี้ยงไก่แห่งประเทศไทยในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ เป็นประธานในพิธีสมโภชน์ผ้าไตร ภายใต้โครงการเทศน์มหาชาติ เวสสันดรชาดก จำนวน 13 กัณฑ์ 1,000 พระคาถา
พร้อมด้วยนายแพทย์ชลน่าน ศรีแก้ว อดีตรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงสาธารณสุข โดยมีนายปรเมศวร์ งามพิเชษฐ์ นายกเมืองพัทยา คณะผู้บริหารเมืองพัทยาและผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานต่าง ๆ รวมถึงประชาชนเข้าร่วมงาน
ซึ่งในช่วงบ่าย จะมีกิจกรรมเทศน์มหาชาติ เวสสันดรชาดก จำนวน 13 กัณฑ์ 1,000 พระคาถา เพื่อร่วมทำบุญและสนับสนุนด้านการศึกษาให้แก่เด็กและคนพิการของมูลนิธิคุณพ่อเรย์กว่า 850 คน
นอกจากเป็นการร่วมทำบุญและรับฟังพระธรรมเทศนาแล้ว ยังเป็นการสืบสานพระพุทธศาสนาและประเพณีเทศน์มหาชาติ เปิดโอกาสให้พุทธศาสนิกชนและประชาชนได้มีส่วนร่วมในการสร้างโอกาสทางการศึกษาและคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีให้แก่เด็กและคนพิการ
