Pattaya City Advances Its Vision as a Film City, Hosting an International Festival to Connect Art, Tourism, and the Creative Economy
On August 11th, 2026, Mr. Damrongkiat Phinitkan, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, together with Mr. Pornchai Wongsriudomphon, Secretary-General of the National Federation of Motion Pictures and Contents Associations; Mr. Nonzee Nimibutr, film director and representative of the Thai Film Directors Association; Mr. Pongpat Wachirabunjong, film director; Dr. Saranat Jiraborwisut, screenwriter for films and television dramas; and Mr. Ken Phupoom Phongpanu, actor, attended a press conference announcing the “Pattaya International Film Festival 2026” at MONO Studio. The event was attended by numerous representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as film directors, actors, artists, and professionals from the film industry.
Held under the theme “THE CINEMATIC WAVE,” or “The Wave of Cinema,” the festival will take place from August 22–30, 2026. It aims to harness the power of cinema to promote arts and culture, tourism, investment, and the creative economy, while elevating Pattaya as an international film festival destination and supporting the city’s goal of becoming a UNESCO Creative City of Film.
Mr. Damrongkiat said that Pattaya City is committed to becoming a creative city for film, arts, and culture, using creativity as a key mechanism for urban development. Cinema is considered an important form of soft power that can showcase identity, inspire people, and connect communities around the world, while also creating opportunities for economic growth, tourism, and investment.
The Pattaya International Film Festival 2026 is not merely a film festival, but also a platform for exchanging knowledge, culture, and innovation in the film industry. It provides opportunities for filmmakers, investors, tourists, and businesses to participate in and contribute to the development of Thailand’s creative industries.

วันที่ 11 สิงหาคม 2569 นายดำรงเกียรติ พินิจการ รองนายกเมืองพัทยา พร้อมด้วยคุณพรชัย ว่องศรีอุดมพร เลขาธิการสมาพันธ์สมาคมภาพยนตร์แห่งชาติ คุณนนทรีย์ นิมิบุตร ผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ และตัวแทนจากสมาคมผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ไทย คุณพงษ์พัฒน์ วชิรบรรจง ผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ ดร.สรรัตน์ จิรบวรวิสุทธิ์ ผู้เขียนบทภาพยนตร์และละครโทรทัศน์ และคุณเคน ภูภูมิ พงศ์ภาณุภาค นักแสดง ร่วมแถลงข่าวการจัดงานเทศกาลภาพยนตร์เมืองพัทยา “Pattaya International Film Festival 2026” ณ MONO Studio โดยมีผู้บริหารจากภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน ผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ นักแสดง ศิลปิน ตลอดจนบุคลากรในอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์เข้าร่วมงานอย่างคับคั่ง
การจัดงานครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นภายใต้แนวคิด “THE CINEMATIC WAVE” หรือ “คลื่นแห่งภาพยนตร์” ระหว่างวันที่ 22–30 สิงหาคม 2569 เพื่อใช้ภาพยนตร์เป็นพลังขับเคลื่อนด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรม การท่องเที่ยว การลงทุน และเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ พร้อมยกระดับเมืองพัทยาสู่การเป็นจุดหมายปลายทางของเทศกาลภาพยนตร์ระดับนานาชาติ และสนับสนุนเป้าหมายการพัฒนาเมืองสู่ “เมืองสร้างสรรค์ด้านภาพยนตร์” (UNESCO Creative City of Film)
นายดำรงเกียรติ กล่าวว่า เมืองพัทยามุ่งสู่การเป็นเมืองสร้างสรรค์แห่งภาพยนตร์และศิลปวัฒนธรรม โดยใช้พลังของความคิดสร้างสรรค์เป็นกลไกสำคัญในการพัฒนาเมือง เนื่องจากภาพยนตร์ถือเป็นซอฟต์พาวเวอร์ที่สามารถถ่ายทอดอัตลักษณ์ สร้างแรงบันดาลใจ และเชื่อมโยงผู้คนจากทั่วโลก ตลอดจนต่อยอดไปสู่โอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจ การท่องเที่ยว และการลงทุน
สำหรับ Pattaya International Film Festival 2026 ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงเทศกาลภาพยนตร์ แต่ยังเป็นเวทีแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ วัฒนธรรม และนวัตกรรมด้านภาพยนตร์ เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์ นักลงทุน นักท่องเที่ยว และภาคธุรกิจเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการขับเคลื่อนอุตสาหกรรมสร้างสรรค์ของไทย
