Pattaya Moves Forward with Naklua Canal Conservation Project, Organizing Cleanup Activities to Restore the Environment and Build a Better Community
On May 19th 2026, Mr. Manoch Nongyai, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, presided over the opening of a canal cleanup activity under the “Promotion of Conservation for Nok Yang Canal, Naklua Canal, and Surrounding Areas Project (3rd Edition)” at Naklua Canal (Naklua Long Bridge area) in front of Khrua Khun Mae Restaurant, Naklua Subdistrict, Banglamung District, Chonburi Province. The event was attended by assistant secretaries to the Pattaya mayor, the president of Pattaya City Council, council members, government officials, and local residents.
As part of the activity, Pattaya City used hydraulic crane trucks to collect garbage from the canal while also cleaning public areas around Naklua Canal and nearby communities. The initiative aims to restore the environment, improve the landscape, and address accumulated waste in the waterways.
Nok Yang Canal and Naklua Canal are considered historic communities and important commercial areas of Naklua Subdistrict, well known for their traditional lifestyle and unique architecture. However, rapid urban expansion has caused environmental challenges, including solid waste, wastewater, and pollution affecting the ecosystem and environmental quality in the area.
Therefore, Pattaya City, through the Natural Resources Division under the Office of Natural Resources and Environment, continues to implement this project to encourage public participation in environmental conservation, restore the richness of aquatic ecosystems, and raise awareness about protecting natural resources together.
Pattaya City remains committed to improving environmental quality in local communities, keeping public areas clean, organized, and livable, while supporting sustainable urban development for the future.
พัทยาเดินหน้าอนุรักษ์คลองนาเกลือ จัดกิจกรรมเก็บขยะฟื้นฟูสิ่งแวดล้อม สร้างชุมชนน่าอยู่
วันที่ 19 พฤษภาคม 2569 นายมาโนช หนองใหญ่ รองนายกเมืองพัทยา เป็นประธานเปิดกิจกรรมเก็บขยะในลำคลอง ตามโครงการส่งเสริมอนุรักษ์คลองนกยาง คลองนาเกลือ และพื้นที่โดยรอบ (ครั้งที่ 3) ณ บริเวณคลองนาเกลือ (สะพานยาวนาเกลือ) หน้าร้านอาหารครัวคุณแม่ ตำบลนาเกลือ อำเภอบางละมุง จังหวัดชลบุรี โดยมีผู้ช่วยเลขานุการนายกเมืองพัทยา ประธานสภาเมืองพัทยา สมาชิกสภาเมืองพัทยา ผู้ช่วยเลขานุการประธานสภาเมืองพัทยา หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ และประชาชนในพื้นที่ เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมอย่างพร้อมเพรียง
กิจกรรมดังกล่าว เมืองพัทยาได้ดำเนินการจัดเก็บขยะในลำคลองด้วยรถติดเครนไฮดรอลิก ควบคู่กับการทำความสะอาดพื้นที่สาธารณะบริเวณคลองนาเกลือและพื้นที่โดยรอบ เพื่อฟื้นฟูสภาพแวดล้อม ปรับปรุงภูมิทัศน์ และแก้ไขปัญหาขยะตกค้างในลำคลอง
สำหรับคลองนกยางและคลองนาเกลือ ถือเป็นชุมชนเก่าแก่และย่านการค้าสำคัญของตำบลนาเกลือ ที่ยังคงมีเอกลักษณ์ด้านวิถีชีวิตและสถาปัตยกรรมดั้งเดิม แต่ปัจจุบันได้รับผลกระทบจากการขยายตัวของเมือง รวมถึงปัญหาขยะมูลฝอย น้ำเสีย และสิ่งปฏิกูลที่ส่งผลต่อระบบนิเวศและคุณภาพสิ่งแวดล้อมในพื้นที่ เมืองพัทยา โดยฝ่ายทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ส่วนส่งเสริมสิ่งแวดล้อม สำนักทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม จึงเดินหน้าดำเนินโครงการดังกล่าว เพื่อส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมของประชาชนในการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ฟื้นฟูความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของระบบนิเวศทางน้ำ และสร้างจิตสำนึกในการดูแลรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อมร่วมกัน
ทั้งนี้ เมืองพัทยามุ่งยกระดับคุณภาพสิ่งแวดล้อมในพื้นที่ชุมชนให้สะอาด เป็นระเบียบ และน่าอยู่อาศัย พร้อมสนับสนุนการพัฒนาเมืองสู่การเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืนในอนาคต
