Pattaya Goes Grand! Mayor Opens Chinese New Year 2026 Festival, Promoting Thai–Chinese Cultural Soft Power on the International Stage
On February 17th 2026, Poramet Ngampichet, Mayor of Pattaya, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Pattaya Chinese New Year Festival 2026” at Lan Pho Public Park. The event was attended by Pattaya City executives, the Mayor’s Secretary and Assistant Secretary, the President and Vice President of the Pattaya City Council, members of the Pattaya City Council, the Assistant Secretary to the Council President, and heads of government departments, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
Pattaya City organized the event to promote cultural tourism and stimulate the local economy, in line with its status as an international tourism destination. Chinese New Year is one of the most significant traditions among Thai people of Chinese descent. It carries auspicious meanings and reflects important cultural values, gratitude toward ancestors, and the warmth of family institutions key foundations of society. Pattaya is home to a large population of Thai-Chinese residents who live and conduct business in the area. It is also a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists, especially during the Chinese New Year period. Therefore, the city has organized the “Pattaya Chinese New Year Festival 2026” to celebrate the Lunar New Year according to the Chinese calendar, while elevating activities designed to attract visitors and showcase the city’s rich Thai–Chinese cultural heritage on the global stage.

17 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 นายปรเมศวร์ งามพิเชษฐ์ นายกเมืองพัทยา เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดงาน “เทศกาลตรุษจีนเมืองพัทยา 2569” ณ สวนสาธารณะลานโพธิ์ นาเกลือ พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารเมืองพัทยา เลขานุการนายกเมืองพัทยา ผู้ช่วยเลขานุการนายกเมืองพัทยา ประธานสภาเมืองพัทยา รองประธานสภาเมืองพัทยา สมาชิกสภาเมืองพัทยา ผู้ช่วยเลขานุการประธานสภาเมืองพัทยา และหัวหน้าส่วนราชการ เข้าร่วมงานอย่างคึกคัก
เมืองพัทยาจัดงานดังกล่าวขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม และกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจท้องถิ่น สอดรับการเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวระดับนานาชาติ โดยเทศกาลตรุษจีนถือเป็นหนึ่งในประเพณีสำคัญของชาวไทยเชื้อสายจีน มีความหมายอันเป็นสิริมงคล สะท้อนคุณค่าทางวัฒนธรรม ความกตัญญูกตเวทีต่อบรรพบุรุษ และความอบอุ่นของสถาบันครอบครัว อันเป็นรากฐานสำคัญของสังคม
