Vegetarian Festival in Pattaya Begins! Spiritual Fulfillment and Cultural Preservation through a Meat-Free Tradition
At 3:19 PM on October 20th 2025, Mr. Poramet Ngampichet, Mayor of Pattaya City, presided over the sacred ritual to invite the deities “Kiew Ong Huk Jow” and the Bodhisattva to reside at the Na Kluea Shrine, under the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, officially marking the start of the Pattaya Vegetarian Festival 2025.
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Prasit Thongthitcharoen, Vice President of the Foundation; Mr. Worapot Pongpalee, Chonburi Provincial Council Member for Banglamung District; Mr. Mana Yapakham, Chairman of the Pattaya City Cultural Council; along with the foundation’s committee members and a large number of devoted participants dressed in white. A grand parade carrying the deities passed through major routes in Na Kluea before arriving at the shrine to continue traditional rituals.
The festival features a wide variety of vegetarian food stalls, offering visitors a chance to embrace a plant-based diet and uphold the spirit of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, a significant cultural heritage of Pattaya.

เริ่มแล้ว! “เทศกาลกินเจเมืองพัทยา” อิ่มบุญ อิ่มใจ สืบสานประเพณีถือศีลละเว้นเนื้อสัตว์
เมื่อเวลา 15.19 น. วันที่ 20 ตุลาคม 2568 นายปรเมศวร์ งามพิเชษฐ์ นายกเมืองพัทยา เป็นประธานร่วมพิธีอัญเชิญเทพยดาฟ้าดิน “กิ้วอ้วงฮุกโจ้ว” และพระโพธิสัตว์ไปสถิต ณ โรงเจนาเกลือ มูลนิธิสว่างบริบูรณ์ธรรมสถานเมืองพัทยา เพื่อเปิดงาน “เทศกาลกินเจเมืองพัทยา ประจำปี 2568” อย่างเป็นทางการ
โดยมีนายประสิทธิ์ ทองทิตย์เจริญ รองประธานมูลนิธิฯ นายวรพต พงษ์พาลี สมาชิก อบจ.ชลบุรี เขตบางละมุง นายมานะ ยาประคำ ประธานสภาวัฒนธรรมเมืองพัทยา พร้อมคณะกรรมการมูลนิธิ และประชาชนผู้มีจิตศรัทธาแต่งชุดขาวเข้าร่วมพิธีจำนวนมาก ขบวนแห่อัญเชิญเทพเจ้าเคลื่อนผ่านเส้นทางสำคัญในเขตนาเกลือ ก่อนเข้าสู่มูลนิธิสว่างบริบูรณ์ฯ เพื่อประกอบพิธีตามประเพณี
ภายในงานยังมีร้านจำหน่ายอาหารเจมากมายให้ประชาชนได้เลือกซื้อและร่วมละเว้นการบริโภคเนื้อสัตว์ เพื่อสืบสานวัฒนธรรมการถือศีลกินเจอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของเมืองพัทยา
