Collaborative efforts in underwater garbage collection and turtle release under the ‘Pattaya Underwater Cleaning’ initiative aim to rehabilitate Koh Larn into a sustainable eco-tourism hub
On July 28th 2025, Mr. Wuttisak Rermkijakarn, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Pattaya Underwater Cleaning” event, which featured underwater garbage collection and the release of sea turtles back into nature.
The event was attended by representatives from the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Tourist Police Division 1, Pattaya Tourist Police Station, members of the Pattaya City Council, the Assistant Secretary to the Mayor of Pattaya, Shee Paradise Group Co., Ltd., the coastal diving community of Koh Larn, and local volunteers. The activities took place around Koh Larn.
The event was organized through the collaboration of the Pattaya Scuba Club and Shee Paradise Group Co., Ltd., with the primary goal of conserving marine natural resources and the ecosystem of Koh Larn, one of Pattaya’s key tourist destinations.
Mr. Wuttisak stated that marine environmental conservation is an ongoing priority for Pattaya City. The aim is to raise awareness among the public, tourists, and youth about keeping Thailand’s seas clean, safe, and sustainable. This event is not merely a symbolic gesture, but a meaningful opportunity for all sectors to actively participate in environmental conservation.
“The underwater cleanup and sea turtle release activity marks the beginning of fostering environmental consciousness, learning, and hands-on action among all groups of people. The long-term goal is to drive Pattaya towards becoming a truly sustainable eco-tourism city.”
Today’s event also reflects the collective strength of collaboration among all sectors government, private, and civil society including 73 divers who joined forces to protect and preserve Thailand’s marine environment. Their efforts aim to maintain the richness of the sea as a safe habitat for marine life and a lasting natural heritage for future generations.”
ผนึกกำลัง ดำน้ำเก็บขยะ–ปล่อยเต่า “Pattaya Underwater Cleaning” ฟื้นฟูเกาะล้าน สู่เมืองท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศ
28 กรกฎาคม 2568 นายวุฒิศักดิ์ เริ่มกิจการ รองนายกเมืองพัทยา เป็นประธานเปิดงานกิจกรรม “Pattaya Underwater Cleaning” ดำน้ำเก็บขยะใต้ทะเลและปล่อยเต่าคืนสู่ธรรมชาติ โดยมีผู้แทนจากกรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง, กองบังคับการตำรวจท่องเที่ยว 1, สถานีตำรวจท่องเที่ยวพัทยา, สมาชิกสภาเมืองพัทยา, ผู้ช่วยเลขานุการนายกเมืองพัทยา, บริษัท ชีพาราไดซ์ กรุ๊ป จำกัด ชุมชนชายฝั่งดำน้ำเกาะล้าน และประชาชนจิตอาสาร่วมกิจกรรม บริเวณเกาะล้าน
กิจกรรมจัดขึ้นโดยความร่วมมือของกลุ่ม Pattaya Scuba Club และบริษัท ชีพาราไดซ์ กรุ๊ป จำกัด ภายใต้เป้าหมายหลักในการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติทางทะเลและระบบนิเวศของเกาะล้าน ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในแหล่งท่องเที่ยวสำคัญของเมืองพัทยา
นายวุฒิศักดิ์ กล่าวว่า การรณรงค์ดูแลสิ่งแวดล้อมทางทะเลเป็นภารกิจที่เมืองพัทยาให้ความสำคัญอย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อสร้างความตระหนักรู้ในหมู่ประชาชน นักท่องเที่ยว และเยาวชนในการรักษาทะเลไทยให้สะอาด ปลอดภัย และยั่งยืน โดยกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ไม่ใช่เพียงการแสดงออกเชิงสัญลักษณ์เท่านั้น หากแต่เป็นการเปิดพื้นที่ให้ทุกภาคส่วนได้มีส่วนร่วมจริงในการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม
“กิจกรรมดำน้ำเก็บขยะและปล่อยเต่าทะเล เป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการสร้างจิตสำนึก การเรียนรู้ และการลงมือปฏิบัติจริงของประชาชนทุกกลุ่ม เป้าหมายระยะยาวคือการผลักดันให้เมืองพัทยาเติบโตไปสู่การเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศอย่างแท้จริง”
กิจกรรมในวันนี้ยังสะท้อนถึงพลังความร่วมมือของภาคีทุกภาคส่วน ทั้งภาครัฐ เอกชน และภาคประชาชน นักดำน้ำ รวมจำนวน 73 คน ที่พร้อมใจกันดูแลรักษาท้องทะเลไทยให้คงความอุดมสมบูรณ์ เป็นแหล่งที่อยู่อาศัยที่ปลอดภัยของสัตว์ทะเล และเป็นมรดกทางธรรมชาติที่ยั่งยืนสืบไปสู่คนรุ่นหลังต่อไป
