On May 22nd, 2025, reporters visited the area around the Mabprachan Reservoir, which serves as a vital raw water source for Pattaya City. During the recent dry season, water levels had significantly decreased. However, the latest field survey revealed a noticeable increase in water volume estimated to have risen by over 80%. It is expected that the reservoir will be able to store water efficiently throughout the rainy season. According to initial interviews, local residents were seen fishing regularly using rods, nets, and other equipment. Some took boats out to cast nets, either for personal consumption or for sale if the catch was plentiful. Others were enjoying the area by jogging in the evening, making the reservoir not only a key water source but also a hub for community recreation. Local residents also shared that, now that the water level in Mabprachan Reservoir has increased, they often invite friends to go fishing together during weekends or after work. The fish they catch are used for cooking at home, helping to reduce household expenses.
The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA), Pattaya Branch, recently provided an update on the raw water situation. They confirmed that the supply of raw water used for producing tap water in Pattaya City, Chonburi Province, remains stable. In 2025, Pattaya Waterworks is confident in its ability to manage water resources efficiently, ensuring there will be no shortages or impacts on the public, as they have already prepared and allocated water from various sources in advance. However, the PWA Pattaya Branch may carry out periodic maintenance and repairs on damaged water pipes, as well as improvements to the water distribution system. This may result in temporary drops in water pressure in some areas or slightly discolored tap water for a short period. ปริมาณน้ำในอ่างเก็บน้ำมาบประชันในปัจจุบันหลังเข้าสู่ช่วงฤดูฝนมีความอุดมสมบูรณ์
เมื่อวันที่ 22 พ.ค. 68 ผู้สื่อข่าวลงพื้นที่สำรวจพื้นที่บริเวณอ่างเก็บนน้ำมาบประชัน ซึ่งถือเป็นแหล่งน้ำดิบสำคัญของพื้นที่เมืองพัทยา เนื่องจากช่วงหน้าร้อนที่ผ่านมามีบริมาณน้ำลดลง โดยล่าสุดจากการลงพื้นที่สำรวจของผู้สื่อข่าวพบว่าปริมาณน้ำมีจำนวนเพื่มมากขึ้นอย่างเห็นได้ชัด ประมาณการเพื่มขึ้นกว่า 80 % และคาดว่าในช่วงฤดูฝนนี้ก็จะสามารถกักเก็บน้ำได้เป็นอย่างดี จากการสอบถามเบื้องต้น พบว่าชาวบ้านต่างนำคันเบ็ต อุปกรณ์หาปลา จับสัตว์น้ำกันอย่างต่อเนื่อง บางคนก็น้ำเรือออกมาหว่านแห่ เพื่อนำไปรับประทานหรือหากมีมากก็นำไปจำหน่ายตามความเหมาะสม บางคนก็มาวิ่งออกกำลังกายในช่วงเย็น โดยชาวบ้านเผยต่อว่าในช่วงนี้หลังจากที่ปริมาณน้ำในอ่างเก็บน้ำมาบประชันเพื่มขึ้นก็จะชวนเพื่อนๆออกมาหาปลากันในช่วงวันหยุดหรือเวลาว่างหลังเลิกงานเพื่อนำไปประกอบอาหารประหยัดค่าใช้จ่ายในครัวเรือน
ด้านการประปาส่วนภูมิภาค สาขาพัทยา ได้เปิดเผยถึงสถานการณ์น้ำดิบเมื่อช่วงที่ผ่านมาว่าสถานการณ์น้ำดิบที่ใช้ในการผลิตน้ำประปาป้อนเข้าสู่ระบบสาธารณูปโภคในพื้นที่เมืองพัทยา จ.ชลบุรี ว่ายังอยู่ในสถานการณ์ปกติ ซึ่งในปี 2568 นี้ การประปาพัทยา จะมีการบริหารจัดการน้ำที่พอเพียงและไม่มีปัญหาหรือผลกระทบอย่างแน่นอน เนื่องจากเราได้เตรียมความพร้อมในการจัดสรรน้ำมาจากแหล่งต่างๆ ไว้เป็นการล่วงหน้าแล้ว อย่างไรก็ตาม กปภ.สาขาพัทยาอาจจะมีการดำเนินการซ่อมแซมท่อประปาที่ชำรุดเป็นระยะๆ และปรับปรุงระบบการจ่ายน้ำ ซึ่งอาจส่งผลให้แรงดันน้ำในบางพื้นที่ลดลงชั่วคราว และมีน้ำขุ่นในระบบประปาภายในบ้านในช่วงระยะเวลาหนึ่ง โดยขอให้ประชาชนระมัดระวังและสำรองน้ำไว้ใช้ในกรณีจำเป็น สามารถติดต่อสอบถามได้ที่: กปภ.สาขาพัทยา (ชั้นพิเศษ)โทรศัพท์: 038-222461-4
