On April 19th 2025 at Wat Chaimongkol Wat Phra Aaramluang and around Pattaya City area, Mr. Poramet Ngampichet, the Pattaya City Mayor presided over the opening ceremony of the traditional Wan Lai Pattaya 2025 festival amidst a lively atmosphere.
The event was attended by Pattaya City executives, secretaries and assistant secretaries to the Mayor, Mr. Banlue Kullavanijaya, Chairman of the Pattaya City Council, members of the City Council, heads of government departments, honored guests, and a large number of local residents.
Wan Lai Pattaya” is considered a continuation of the Songkran Festival, held after April 13 each year. The event aims to preserve local cultural traditions and offer a fun and refreshing way to cool down during the hot month of April. This year, Pattaya City also organized the “Naklua Wan Lai Festival” to emphasize the importance of preserving Thailand’s cherished customs, while ensuring activities align with legal frameworks and local cultural values.
The event featured a variety of activities, including a merit-making ceremony with alms offerings of dried food and rice, the ceremonial bathing of Buddha images and the traditional water-pouring ritual to pay respects and seek blessings from the elderly accompanied by the presentation of souvenirs as a gesture of gratitude.
In addition, there were vibrant flower-car floats and a procession carrying sacred relics of the Lord Buddha, allowing Buddhist devotees to participate in water-pouring rituals for blessings and good fortune in the Thai New Year.
The atmosphere at the event was warm, joyful, and filled with smiles, reflecting the strong sense of community and cooperation in preserving the region’s cherished traditions and cultural heritage.
งานประเพณี วันไหลพัทยา พุทธศาสนิกชนร่วมสรงน้ำเสริมสิริมงคลต้อนรับปีใหม่ไทย 2568
วันที่ 19 เมษายน 2568 ที่ วัดชัยมงคล พระอารามหลวง และพื้นที่ในเมืองพัทยา นายปรเมศวร์ งามพิเชษฐ์ นายกเมืองพัทยา เป็นประธานเปิดงานประเพณี “วันไหลพัทยา 2568” ท่ามกลางบรรยากาศคึกคัก โดยมีคณะผู้บริหารเมืองพัทยา เลขานุการและผู้ช่วยเลขานุการนายกเมืองพัทยา นายบรรลือ กุลละวณิชย์ ประธานสภาเมืองพัทยา สมาชิกสภาเมืองพัทยา หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ แขกผู้มีเกียรติ และประชาชนในพื้นที่ร่วมงานอย่างเนืองแน่น
“วันไหลพัทยา” ถือเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ที่จัดขึ้นต่อเนื่องหลังจากวันที่ 13 เมษายน โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อสืบสานวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น และสร้างความชุ่มฉ่ำคลายร้อนในช่วงเดือนเมษายน ซึ่งปีนี้เมืองพัทยาได้จัดงาน “ประเพณีวันไหลนาเกลือ” เพื่อเน้นการอนุรักษ์ขนบธรรมเนียมอันดีงามของไทย ภายใต้กรอบของกฎหมายและความสอดคล้องกับวัฒนธรรมพื้นถิ่น
ภายในงานมีกิจกรรมหลากหลาย อาทิ พิธีทำบุญตักบาตรข้าวสารอาหารแห้ง สรงน้ำพระพุทธรูป รดน้ำดำหัวขอพรผู้สูงอายุ พร้อมมอบของที่ระลึกเพื่อแสดงความกตัญญู นอกจากนี้ยังมีขบวนแห่รถบุปผชาติและขบวนอัญเชิญพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ ให้พุทธศาสนิกชนร่วมสรงน้ำเสริมสิริมงคลต้อนรับปีใหม่ไทย
บรรยากาศในงานเต็มไปด้วยความอบอุ่น สนุกสนาน และเปี่ยมไปด้วยรอยยิ้ม สะท้อนถึงความร่วมแรงร่วมใจของชุมชนในการธำรงไว้ซึ่งประเพณีและวัฒนธรรมอันทรงคุณค่าของท้องถิ่นอย่างแท้จริง
